About the piece
The piece sets one of the most beautiful love texts ever written from The Song of Songs. This interpretation of the text maintains its simple, direct tone as well as its romantic and almost erotic quality. The duality of the text’s age and immortality is illustrated by a hybrid of traditional Jewish modes and embellishments with modern jazz-influenced harmonies and rhythms.
