Teaching

Starting summer 2026, I offer remote lessons in composition, songwriting, arrangement and performance. Beginning or advanced musicians at all ages, with background of at least 2 years in composition/songwriting/production or performance, are welcome to send an inquiry using the Contact Form below. Please include a few sentences about your musical background and what you are looking for in lessons.

My goal as a teacher is to nurture my students to grow as artists, thinkers, and human beings. My students bring to the table a range of backgrounds and levels. I help them find their personal voices through looking at different traditions of making music, improving their current expressive and technical skills, and exposing them to others. I bring in my 20+ years of experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and giving masterclasses and lectures around the world.  Like my music, which celebrates intersections among different genres including concert music, rock, funk, hip hop, and musical theater, I teach students who listen to and create music in various styles and genres.
