About the piece
Dragon Mother describes one woman's journey from girlhood to motherhood, a journey that is glorious, frightening, inspiring, heartbreaking, and bizarre. The orchestra whispers, shouts, sings and stomps in order to magnify the narrator’s inner world, including a guest vocal appearance of an orchestra member in the role of the protagonist’s daughter.
