About the piece

“Jerusalem stone” is the name of the stone that has been used for building in Jerusalem since ancient times, including the Western Wall. The stone’s special look and texture is one of the symbols of the city. This piece is dedicated to the city’s stones, which have been silent witnesses to this city’s triumphs, anger, and sadness over the years. The piece was inspired by Israeli poet Yehuda Amichai’s poem collection Songs of Jerusalem.
