About the piece

Hashiveinu is a short choral piece scored for SATB a-cappella (with another version for SSAATTBB available). Hashiveinu sets a liturgical text from the book of Lamentations, in which the people of Israel ask God for forgiveness and to go back to their past days. The use of both the Hebrew and the English versions of the text, as well as the hybrid of traditional and contemporary musical vocabulary, reflect the concept of joining together people from different cultures and faiths.
